Welcome! ¡Bienvenidos!

Bienvenidos was founded in 1986 to address the growing number of abused and neglected infants and toddlers in Los Angeles. From the outset, agency leaders recognized that children who do not have the care, guidance and support they need are less likely to become successful and self-sustaining adults.

Guided by a vision in which every family can provide a loving, healthy and secure home where children grow and thrive, we have spent the last 25 years developing a comprehensive array of programs and services that fulfill our mission to be a compassionate community of care dedicated to healing children and their families. Programs and services are designed to heal children and families in crisis as well as to help prevent crises before they arise. As a result, the agency offers a holistic approach to care that focuses on serving the whole family and their wide range of needs.

Our unique strength is this ability to provide highly effective services that address multiple needs at once. Through a combination of programs and resources that work together, we create a safety net and stable environments for children and families. Each year, our programs serve over 18,000 children and families throughout Greater East Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley and parts of the San Fernando and Antelope Valleys.

Remember, the caring we do today will make all the difference to a child, to a family and to our communities' future. By working together, we will create long-term change and give hope to those who have all but lost it to realize their dreams.

TELA SOFA, a program of Bienvenidos, receives a scholarship every year from Idyllwild Arts Academy for one of our students who participates in our film program through Project SAFE, a gang intervention and HIV and Substance abuse prevention program. This year’s recipient is Moises M., a young man that has had many challenges in his life. Because of the profound impact of El Joven Noble, Project SAFE, and Mentors such as Luis Ruan, Jackie Cruz, and Armando Lawrence, Moises has left the gangs and will continue on to college this coming fall.
