Hillsides Wins Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation for Excellence in Public Relations

LOS ANGELES, August 2, 2017 -- Hillsides, a Southern California foster care charity, has won a 2017 Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Hillsides won for the feature story, “180 Years of Love and Caring at Hillsides,” written by Alison Bell, the associate director of communications and marketing. The feature tells the story of five Hillsides employees whose combined years of employment totaled 180 years. 

The PRSA is the nation’s largest professional organization serving the communications community.  The PRSA Bronze Anvil Awards celebrate the best in public relations tactics. This year’s competition drew 564 entries, with 43 Bronze Anvil Winners and 94 Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation Winners. Other Bronze Anvil Commendation award winners included the University of Oregon, Wynn Resorts, and JetBlue Airways.

In 2016, Hillsides’ communications department consisting of Bell and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications Marisol Barrios was awarded three PRSA Los Angeles chapter awards, one of which also recognized “180 Years of Love and Caring at Hillsides.”
