Back to School Fair - September 20, 2007

On September 20, 2007, Bienvenidos’ Family Support Program hosted a Back-to-School Resource Fair for families with children who are returning to school. Parents with children in school were given school supplies, such as back packs, notebooks, and pencils to start the school year organized and enthusiastic. Most of these families cannot afford even these basics, but our Family Support Program was there to help. Helping children get a good education and helping parents understand the value of a good education are the most powerful ways to break the cycle of poverty. Area vendors such as the Pasadena Unified School District and the Boy Scouts of America were on-site to provide information to these families about enriching the education of their children
